performances include playing with Townsend Opera Players at the Gallo
Center for the Arts in Modesto, CA as well as performing with the Fresno
Grand Opera in the Sacramento Community Center Theater. Divesh will be
making his debut as a solo percussionist with the California State University,
Stanislaus Wind Ensemble this May performing the Concerto for Solo
Percussion by Gary Ziek. After having given a student recital last year, Divesh
felt his next step was to be selected as the winner in his university’s annual
concerto and aria competition; he was one of four winners selected this year.
With much success as a performer and educator, Divesh wants to further
pursue a career as an orchestral percussionist and teach at the university level.
Divesh has already set forth to accomplish his endeavours by accepting
responsibility as the Ensemble Coordinator for the California State University,
Stanislaus Percussion Ensemble. Other logistical and arts administrative
experiences include having been a member of the Production Team for the
2011 Nancy Zeltsman Marimba Festival in Appleton, WI.
Divesh is pleased to be completing his undergraduate career at California
State University, Stanislaus, graduating with honors for his exemplary
academic achievements and receiving a Bachelor’s of Music Degree with
Emphasis in Instrumental Performance and Music Education. Divesh will
begin work on a Master’s of Music in Instrumental Performance at the San
Francisco Conservatory of Music this fall, studying under world-renowned
percussionist, Jack Van Geem. Past teachers and influences in Divesh’s
development as a percussionist include: Chris Woodham, Nancy Zeltsman and
Allen Brown. Divesh hopes to become an influential figure for his future
percussion students as well as the music community.
